My art is inspired by colour, movement, the childlike joy of my children and the linear lines of set plans and preparation behind the scenes that allows such freedoms to thrive.
As a mother, the schedule and preparation of the every detail that I plan behind the scenes to make my children’s lives free flowing and easy – those are the lines that bring our family life together. It the preparation before a family hike, birthday party or trip to the beach that allow for my children to run free, splash in muddy puddles, get dirty, roll down hills and not worry about it, knowing that when they need it a clean pair of shorts of a drink of water will magically appear from a bag.
It is the planning hiding in the background that allows for such freedoms for others.
My art represents the balance and constant juggle of a mother. The coming together of the structured and the linear with the sweeping free movements of childlike, unplanning joy.
