About Gemma Troy

I paint but I also write poetry so I’m interested in vulnerability and what exists when we remove ourselves from the conversation. I want to explore what it means to go beyond being human. I hope that my art challenges the viewer on many levels. With its richness in colour, the movement, the energetic brushwork and its abstract nature. There’s an intensity to my art because there’s an intensity to me. Not many of us feel brave enough to explore the rich, deep depths of our being. That’s where I like to go when I’m painting.
