Bold yet sophisticated; the artist’s works translate classic indulgence into a sleek modern style.

Francesca exhibits regularly between Hong Kong and Australia and her paintings have been collected and sought after by numerous private and corporate collectors in Italy, France, UK, USA, Japan, China, Singapore and Australia, including the Director of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Dr Stefano Carboni.

I was born and raised a city girl in Rome, Italy, but since I moved to Australia in 2007 I discovered a love of this sunburnt country. I use the power of the visual image of the Western Australian landscape in combination with its scale and textures to explore a new place, land and culture.
I call my works ‘emotional landscapes’: they capture fleeting moments of memory with a vision that is emotional and intuitive, remembering a sunrise, looking at the earth and the sky in the sunshine or after rain; recalling the clearest azure waters, the softest sands, the brightest sunsets.

In recent years my colour palette has been soft and subtle, with a delicate, lyrical quality in which the use of 23 carat gold leaf enriches the painting with a unique luminosity and elegance, emulating the play of light triggered by the uncompromising Western Australian sun.

I work between my two studios, the one in Fremantle and the one in Gracetown, a small coastal village in the South West, where I constantly refuel on inspiration.
