Emma McNamara creates pieces that reimagine the world through the colours Emma perceives in each place and the energy she wants to convey about that landscape- a sparky crispy morning might prompt blue trees, a calm warm evening – a glittering soft peach sea.
Colour, mark making and the sense of light are central to the sensory connection she establishes between the viewer and her work.
Artworks: 4
By portraying landscapes she has come to know instinctively in unexpected palettes, Emma is challenging the familiar tone that her viewer might associate with the Australian landscape and asking them to experience it anew, as if for the first time.
Emma’s pieces are re-imagined landscapes to help us remember our interconnected relationship with the land.
