Brisbane
Trained in Visual Arts I moved from formal art to digital photography and post processing. I now use fine art photography to portray our endangered animal kingdom, each portrait a unique vision.

From Brisbane formally trained and educated at QCA and Griffith University holding degrees in Visual Arts, Design and Teaching, I moved from formal fine arts and design on retiring to a new career in digital imaging, emerging as a fine art wildlife photo artist.
Conservation is foremost in my purpose and art, photography now my chosen medium to capture the soul and essence of the scene or subject in front of me each portrait an intimate moment or connection; eye contact, fleeting sunlight on the subject, the camera just a tool to capture it. I become part of the scene seduced by the animal and its presence – colour, pattern, shape and contrast, light and shade, movement and the all important ‘Je Ne Sais Quoi’ playing a vital part in the initial photograph of the animal. Background or surroundings not the primary focus; my aim is to capture the animal’s unique individualism, including a glimpse of their habitat only if connected with their story.
It is about the animal itself, this unique, wonderful species of creation that shares its world with us, now threatened because of us. Each portrait gives the viewer an emotional connection and empathy with the animal.
