Dinah Dixon is a visual artist who lives in Brisbane’s bayside painting contemporary semi-abstract landscapes in acrylics, oils and some mixed media.
Growing up in country Queensland gave her an early appreciation for nature and the land, a gift for which she is forever grateful. She feels very connected to the landscape and loves to travel, discovering new places to inspire her paintings of the raw natural beauty she sees to later translate onto canvas and share with her viewers.
Dinah began painting in 2007 as a way of expressing her creativity and found it to be quite a therapeutic way of cutting through the noise of everyday life.
She often travels over to the islands in Moreton Bay to paint en-plein air, recording the vibrancy of colours only seen with the naked eye and to just sit still in nature, absorbing all that is. “I tend to seek out calm and peaceful locations, which is perhaps evident in my paintings. The act of just sitting still and taking it all in is so restorative. As an Artist, it gives me great joy to share that stillness with you through Art, so that you can enjoy that feeling of calm in your own space every day.
