“ People are a constant source of subject material whether on the train, the coffee shop or at the beach, Chris really enjoys observing human behaviours.”
Chris’ work is usually themed and based around community connections, groups and interactions. Sometimes this means figurative works and sometimes allegorical pieces.
She works both from real life and photos, trying to inject a sense of fun and nostalgia into her artwork. People are a constant source of subject material for her, whether on the train, the coffee shop or at the beach and she really enjoys observing human behaviours.
Most of Chris’ work is in oil paint because she enjoys being able to blend tones and colours within a centimetre of their lives. Although she works mostly with a limited palette, occasionally she injects different colours to explore new variations of her standard pallet.
Social isolation 2020 has given Chris a perfect opportunity experiment with different ideas, materials and mediums and she is looking forward to being more adventurous in her future works.
