Cara Sanders aka Owlet is an Australian painter and muralist based in Gold Coast. Cara is fascinated by the Australian landscape, she uses the textures and colours to inspire what she creates.
Cara Sanders also known as Owlet is a painter and muralist based in Gold Coast, Australia where she works as a resident artist at the Mint Art House and as Director of The Express Yourself Project, an art and music program tailored to meet the needs of people living with a disability. Owlet’s practice is a love of process inspired by a connection to the natural world and a curiosity for life. Abstract and expressionistic, her compositions are energising and sensual landscapes translated by moods and experiences.
Since completing her Bachelor of New Media Art (2013) she has undertaken public art projects across Australia, and supported by Mackay City Council to undertake mentorship in a large scale public art project in North Queensland. On the Gold Coast, Owlet has exhibited at Dust Temple (2018), Level Up Gallery (2019), Acid Test Art Show (2020), and showcased on Art Lovers Australia Online Gallery (2020). Owlet has joined the HOTA Gallery and Visual Arts Youth Advisory Group (2020) and seeks to actively contribute to and support the Gold Coast creative community.
