Alison Collins is a Christian and Gamilaraay artist. Her art is inspired by her inmost thoughts, feelings and questions surrounding her life and faith. Using vibrant colours, Indigenous symbols and patterns Alison creates one of a kind art.

Alison Collins is an emerging Christian and Gamilaraay artist originally from Campbelltown, NSW and now living in Brisbane, QLD. Her mob is Gamilaraay country in Coonamble and Gilgandra, NSW. Born on Dharawal land in NSW, she grew up learning about her culture through song, dance, storytelling and many types of art mediums. She is a self-taught artist and has learnt about her culture from her mother, family and elders in her community.
In 2011, Alison became a born again Christian and was baptised. After a few years, Alison entered a local art exhibition and won the Bruce & Carol Kendall OAM Memorial Award in 2014. This was the start of her artistic journey. Alison is becoming known for her use of vibrant colours, detailed Aboriginal patterns and symbols on large canvas’, all while tackling deep and personal questions, thoughts and feelings about the meaning of life.
Her art is a moment in time where her faith and culture can meet.
Alison has since won both 1st and 2nd prize – KARI Award and the Kate Nicholas Liverpool Women’s Services Award.
