What drives me as an artist is an innate need to be reflective of life, to think about what it means to be human and to express those thoughts and experiences through artistic means.

About Lorelle Murray (Loz)
Through both realist and abstract aspects of representation, my work tends to form a surrealist style of expression that explores emotions, psychological, spiritual and philosophical concepts, LGBTQI themes, and mental health issues.
My passion for art began as a child, and has continued to progress through to now with limited formal training.
I have been a Boarder Art Prize finalist 2007, a finalist for the Brisbane Art Prize 2016, was one of six artists chosen across Queensland to partake in the Anglicare Arts & Minds challenge 2017, (consisting of painting and donating art work to help raise money to support people struggling with mental illness), finalist for the Obi Art Prize 2017, semi-finalist for the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize 2017, and the People’s Choice Award winner for the Sunshine Coast Private Hospital's ‘Path to Wellness’ exhibition 2017.
