Additional Information

A literal translation of 'Dekyid' from Tibetan to English means happiness. This painting of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is meant to try and depict a visual representation of the happiness that can be experienced when meeting and being in the presence of the Dalai Lama. In the back ground there are explosions of fireworks. Coming out from these explosions are some Tibetan symbology, such as wisdom knots, dharma wheels, lotus flowers, conch shells, double vajras, and offerings of the three jewels. In short not all but most of this imagery is symbolic of how one governs themselves with wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all humanity, all animals and all life we come into contact with. The birds (male and female rainbow lorikeet, and king parrot) are added to the Tibetan symbology as beautiful offerings, as these birds are really beautiful in their form in nature, and in flight gives a little movement to the background.
