Additional Information

Our French Art Adventure is a 10 day painting holiday in France that will take your relationship with France to a whole new level. Ask any one of our past attendees and they will tell you that this trip exceeds every expectation. The attention to detail combined with the most spectacular scenery and towns will ensure that you come away feeling relaxed, inspired and as though you have experienced something genuinely special. Staying with the warm and welcoming William and Rosalie Haas at the stunning Haut Baran in The Lot river region of southern France, this trip is perfect for the beginner and those who has always wanted to but 'never thought they could'. domaine-du-haut-baran We took our first ever group (for their painting holiday in France) here 5 years ago and have been returning ever since. The accommodation is a luxuriously converted farm house complete with sandstone buildings, swimming pool, hot spa and an enormous light-filled art studio. The food is out of this world. Daily breakfasts of light french pastries, local yogurts, platters of meats & cheese, eggs, a range of cereals and fruits with jugs of freshly brewed coffee await us each morning. The lunches and dinners are prepared by our own personal chef who takes enormous pride in showing off the region's best local produce. Each day we choose a new village to explore. Our host William is thoroughly versed in each town's history and we enjoy personalised tours and detours to local sights along the way. You can expect to visit a wide range of villages including Puy L'eveque (voted most beautiful town in France), 14th century bastide towns Montcarbrier & Castelfranc as well as the infamous Rocamadour where pilgrims climbed on hands and knees and Joan of Arc conversed with the archangel Michael.

If you have never painted before, a painting holiday in France is the perfect place to learn. Gillian specialises in teaching beginners and knows this region well. Painters will have structured 3-4 hour painting sessions either morning or afternoon and you can choose how much or how little painting you do. We will be able to spend some days in the studio working from both our photos as well as from life. Non-painting partners are welcome to join us as well and will have plenty to do. With only 3-4 hours each day painting, we have the rest of the time to swim, relax, shop, dine and more! You don't need to feel as though you are good at art to join a painting holiday in France, we have taken many beginner painters to France to learn with us before. You may even have just felt the urge to start painting and drawing - this is a good way to take it up and learn for the first time. You need NO EXPERIENCE/TALENT WHATSOEVER - We will be stepping you through techniques to work outside from life (plein-air) as well as from photos. Imagine telling your friends in years to come where you learnt to paint! You can draw or paint in any medium that suits you. Of course if you are an experienced painter that just needs some time out and the idea of a painting holiday in France sounds good to you, you will love being pampered and having the time to do you art where all your needs are taken care of. fra THE DETAILS: Dates 16-26 April 2018
